Consensus and reliable sources

Hello Ivan. I noticed that you were restoring your edits at Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Please note that WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not a valid reason to remove sourced material, but WP:UNDUE or non-reliable (WP:RS) may be, if there also was consensus for this (WP:CONSENSUS). In any case, when someone reverts, you are expected to obtain consensus for your changes before restoring them (WP:BRD for more information). I suggest to open a discussion at Talk:Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses and see what other editors think. As far as I know, Penton's source is considered reliable for Wikipedia purposes and the description valid. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate23:52, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also added a Welcome notice at the top of your page which contains more links to how Wikipedia works. —PaleoNeonate03:02, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Talk Page setup

Hello, I just wanted to take a quick second to get you up to speed with Talk Page setup when responding. I know you've already noticed that you need to make sure to leave a line between your response and the one above you, so that's all good.

The second thing real quick (which you'll notice I've done for you) is that when you are responding, use a colon (:) at the beginning of your response in order to push it a space to the side. This allows for a break to more easily see different editors sections. Typically, at most, three (:) will do. If the person above you has already done three (:), you can simply start again at the edge of the page.

Just as an example:

First post

Second post
Third post
Fourth post

Fifth post

And then that style will continue.

If you break your post into different paragraphs, you'll need to do that with each different section of text you write. If your text is all one paragraph with no line breaks, just the initial (:) will do.

For example:

This entire section will be pushed forward by the one (:) because it is all connected without any line breaks. Therefore you do not need to add any additional (:) in order to push forward any secondary lines in this section, even though the text is taking up more than one line of space.
However, because these two sections are separated by a line break, you need to once again add a (:) to indicate that it is the same post as the above.

Hope that helps. Have a great day. Vyselink (talk) 19:55, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
