Lalisa Manoban (Template:Lang-th; born March 27, 1997), better known by the mononym Lisa, is an Afro-Thai singer known as the youngest member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink under YG Entertainment.[2]

Early life

Lisa Manoban was born as Pranpriya Manoban on March 27, 1997, in Bangkok, Thailand.[citation needed] Her name was later changed to Lalisa.[citation needed] Her mother is Thai and her stepfather is a renowned Swiss chef in Thailand.[citation needed]

She attended Praphamontree II School in Thailand.[citation needed] Lisa started dancing when she was eight years old and began her vocal training during her middle school.[citation needed]

She speaks Thai, English, Korean, Japanese and basic Chinese.

Career

2016–present: Blackpink

In August 2016, Lisa debuted as one of four members of the South Korean girl group Blackpink.[citation needed] She established herself as the main dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist of the group.[3] Blackpink topped Billboard World Digital Song chart with their single "Boombayah", which set the record as the most-viewed debut music video by a South Korean act on YouTube.[citation needed]

Endorsements

In January 2019, Lisa became the muse of Celine, a French luxury brand.[4] In March 2019, Lisa signed her first solo endorsement deal when she became the new brand presenter for AIS Thailand.[citation needed]

Impact and influence

In 2018, Lisa won The Standard "Person of the Year" award in Thailand.[5]

In April 2019, Lisa became the most followed K-pop artist and celebrity from Thailand and South Korea on Instagram with over 17 million followers.[6]
