Unsourced statements removed from article
I just removed the following two statements from the article. Both were added, with no supporting evidence, in this edit.
- After the "Tour of Duty" in 2003 Everett had to go under medical treatment, because of serious problems with his voice, which affected his singing during the tour. The song "After the Operation" deals with this incident.
- Rumour has it that Everett divorced his wife in late 2005.
The one about the divorce had a citation needed tag since Feb 07. I did a search on Google and couldn't find anything to support either statement. --82.38.185.202 13:20, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Autobiography states that they marries before the making of Souljacker, which was released in 2001, and that the mariage lasted 5 years. Autobiography also states that "Tour of duty" took a heavy physical toll and that he had to be operated when back in the states. That the "Eels with Strings" tour is a contradiction with earlier descision to not tour in such a big way. IIVeaa (talk) 16:58, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Improving the biography
I would recommend rewritting part of the biography to match the autobiography E just wrote. "Things the Grandchildren should Know" by Mark Oliver Everett, available in England (soon in the US). This would be the most reliable source about E's life. I'll prepare that if time allows. Azhag (talk) 04:05, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
way too many opinions on here in lieu of facts. no one doubts mark is talented but to say he is a master of his and that smacks of fans writing this. stick to the facts. Boils (talk) 12:20, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives
I have just seen it and am very impressed by Mark trying to understand his father. Very personal, very cool.
The tape scene was chilling for me as well, as we have a unplayed tape of my mom which I was not able to get transferred so far.
Good luck Mark! --87.163.39.202 (talk) 19:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Re that divorce cite
http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/books/article3122665.ece
"..He married Anna, a Russian dentist he met at a health farm, in 2000, but the marriage ended five years later. Now 44, Everett is single again. He explains the demise of his marriage, and of other relationships, by referring to the title of chapter nine – “I Love Crazy Women” —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.8.132.38 (talk) 12:33, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
So can we put it back in? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Muon (talk • contribs) 12:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- I already put it there :) IIVeaa (talk) 17:01, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Career
The Career section isn't written in the proper format for a Wikipedia article. I'd fix this myself, but I'm no good at it. It's just not written objectively. Spirit Stiff (talk) 04:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Electro-Shock Blues description
Just bringing up the nature of neutrality and accuracy inre: the description of the ESB record. The article reads: "The release, whose sound alternates between furious indefatigableness, black humor, and strikingly authentic desperation, gained almost unanimous critical praise."
The only fact in there is that "the release gained almost unanimous critical praise." I think it's a great record, but it's only opinion that it exhibits "furious indefatigableness", etc. That doesn't describe how the music is written, any specifics about lyrical content or instrumentation, and I think it doesn't contribute to informative substance of the article.
Ideas? Opinions?

MC Honky
Although it's pretty obvious it's him, since it hasn't been proven or admitted by him, should it be stated that he is "also known as" MC Honky, by Wikipedia's standards? It's also on his IMDb page (which also has a different birth year). It's tough to say what's right and wrong, and of course, it hasn't been officially stated that he's MC Honky (even though you can tell it is).
