Similar to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of political figures of Upstate New York and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of emigrants from Upstate New York, this is biographical listcruft, an overly granular fork of List of people from New York (state). Sure that is a massive category, but this is unsourced with no set criteria for inclusion. Reywas92Talk 01:51, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

- Keep/merge The list of people from New York (state) has many occupational sections but doesn't seem to have one for educators or librarians. Such people as a group are notable per WP:LISTN. For example, see Demand and supply of professionally trained librarians in New York State or Encyclopedia of New York State which highlist the role of key people like Melvil Dewey whose system is now used worldwide. WP:LISTCRUFT is neither guideline nor policy; just disruptive WP:CRUFTCRUFT. Andrew D. (talk) 11:16, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
- Merge, as above. This is way too esoterically crufty as a standalone. Agricola44 (talk) 14:49, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
