Vue.js was nominated as a Engineering and technology good article, but it did not meet the good article criteria at the time (July 13, 2019, reviewed version). There are suggestions on the review page for improving the article. If you can improve it, please do; it may then be renominated. |
This article was nominated for deletion on 17 June 2016. The result of the discussion was delete and redirect to JavaScript templating. |
Removal of the comparison section
Nearly all of the Comparison section was copypasted straight from https://vuejs.org/v2/guide/comparison.html, which is a violation of WP:COPYPASTE. No other JS framework article has a comparison like that on there. Take it to Comparison of JavaScript frameworks or somewhere else if you think it's that important. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 03:23, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
Reads like it was written by PR
Vue has an 89% developer satisfaction rating. Vue accumulates around 80 GitHub stars per day, and is the 14th most starred project on GitHub of all time [...] Simple to use yet powerful in nature [...] It recently clocked 2,793 Watchers, 48,505 Stars 6,340 Forks.
This article's pretty bad. Is it getting deleted or something? 146.6.125.174 (talk) 16:50, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your constructive criticism... ALSO THIS: "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject." If this regards me then its a bit heavy handed if this was written about some other contributors I can see what you mean by the superlative adjectives sprinkled in to describe Vue... For the record, I do not even personally use Vue.js but have used it for a few months and every once in a while help with my company's code base with Vue... The fact is that it is my second favorite JS framework after React, but that doesn't mean it needs to be slandered as not sufficiently notable as some have done. The fact is that it is a great framework and much more importantly widely used and increasingly inspirational of other works... if you have meaningful edits that can help improve the article feel free to add them, otherwise...Nonymous-raz (talk) 18:54, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Maintenance and rating of JavaScript articles
Concerning editing and maintaining JavaScript-related articles...
Collaboration...
If you are interested in collaborating on JavaScript articles or would like to see where you could help, stop by Wikipedia:WikiProject JavaScript and feel free to add your name to the participants list. Both editors and programmers are welcome.
Where to list JavaScript articles
We've found over 300 JavaScript-related articles so far. If you come across any others, please add them to that list.
User scripts
The WikiProject is also taking on the organization of the Wikipedia community's user script support pages. If you are interested in helping to organize information on the user scripts (or are curious about what we are up to), let us know!
If you have need for a user script that does not yet exist, or you have a cool idea for a user script or gadget, you can post it at Wikipedia:User scripts/Requests. And if you are a JavaScript programmer, that's a great place to find tasks if you are bored.
How to report JavaScript articles in need of attention
If you come across a JavaScript article desperately in need of editor attention, and it's beyond your ability to handle, you can add it to our list of JavaScript-related articles that need attention.
Rating JavaScript articles
At the top of the talk page of most every JavaScript-related article is a WikiProject JavaScript template where you can record the quality class and importance of the article. Doing so will help the community track the stage of completion and watch the highest priority articles more closely.

Tidying up external links and references
I've removed a section called "Integrations" which was an opinionated list of extensions and related projects (WP:ELLIST and WP:ADV). I'm not sure there's any reason to include them at all but, if there was, those that have their own pages should be in the "See also" section.
I also took out a list of "Supporting libraries" which did a similar job for projects owned by the Vue.js core team. I took it out because I see no benefit to the casual reader. Anyone interested in that level of detail should be reading the official manual, not Wikipedia (WP:NOTMANUAL).
Finally, I added an "External links" section with a link to the official website. I'd like to come back and clean up the article text some time. Greg Tyler (t • c) 12:58, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Failed good article nomination on July 13, 2019
Upon its review on July 13, 2019, this good article nomination was quick-failed because it:
- had a virtual or complete lack of reliable sources
thus making it ineligible for good article consideration. According to Wikipedia:Verifiability, "Material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source."
This article did not receive a thorough review, and may not meet other parts of the good article criteria. I encourage you to remedy this problem (and any others) and resubmit it for consideration. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to a Good article reassessment. Thank you for your work so far. TheDragonFire (talk) 12:58, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
Definition of "router"
I removed the links to the router page from two sections of the article because that is a packet-switching definition of router, and different than router in this context. If someone eventually creates an appropriate page for the "router" definition then feel free to link it to that page. GGG65 (talk) 22:44, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
