AfC notification: Draft:Give OUT day has a new comment

[edit]
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Give OUT day. Thanks! Otr500 (talk) 12:02, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings and thanks for your contribution. I would like to make a few points. I generally refrain from approving articles with a conflict of interest and especially concerning paid contributions. I feel advertising dollars contribute bias and as a long time volunteer am 100% against it. Even if you do not directly receive compensation for getting an article created you would still be considered a defacto paid contributor. You get paid to work by the company sponsoring the "event". Some see this as paid contributing over just a simple COI.
It may be considered WP:TOO SOON and some could successfully argue that creation in advance of April 18 2019, would be promotional. It could also be successfully argued that you are so far considered a single purpose account and these things weigh in heavy at AFD's. I hope you would find that contributing to Wikipedia a worthwhile and noble endeavor but I don't have a crystal ball. I assume you are in Australia and this is a big area always needing new editors. Your involvement may be minimal and I am supportive of charities even if I do not champion a cause. I would be more receptive to creation after the above date if the article is further declined or rejected. Another editor may see things differently so I left that open. I would not want any bias I have to create a stumbling block on an article that otherwise can have merit. For transparency I will add a note to the draft. Thanks, Otr500 (talk) 12:55, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
