This article is about the general notion of destiny theory.

Destiny theory is the philosophical proposition that every event, including human cognition and action, is determined by basic laws of physics. No mysterious miracles or wholly random events occur nor any intervention by any forces that are seen to be 'supernatural'.

The Nature of Destiny Theory

If a perfectly circular ball is thrown at exactly 45° degrees at a perfectly flat wall, then the ball will bounce off at exactly 45°. These same rules apply to every particle of matter, down to quarks and electrons etc. Every particle can only travel with a constant velocity unless a force is acting upon it. This would mean that, in effect, there is at any one point in time, the only way for a particle to change direction or speed is for a physical force to act upon it.

Imagine you can freeze time. At that moment in time every particle has a speed and direction in which it is traveling. If now time starts to move, the particles continue to move on the path of movement that is controlled by the forces acting upon it. The particles will interact, imposing forces upon each other changing direction of other particles. Even if one rewound time and let it move again, everything would move on the exact same path because of the forces acting on them. Like rewinding and rewatching a movie, nothing changes.

This theory dictates that every particle has a predetermined path that it must travel because of the forces that acting upon it, that have acted on it and the forces that will act on it in the future because of the path that it travels.

Given that we are all made up of particles, to which the same laws of physics apply, it is also possible to say that therefore there is only a single possible course of life. Even human emotions are able to be explained by this course of thought. The brain, like the rest of the human body, is made up of a series of reactions. And these reactions are made up of chemicals, and these chemicals, particles. Thus you can apply the same theory to the human brain. All particle movement in the brain can only happen in one way, and thus there is only one possible outcome from everything that goes on in the brain, and thus there is only one possible outcome, once again due to how particles move and interact.

This would mean that every action is predetermined by the movement of the particles that affect any particle that has everything to do with the action. And given that every single particle has a predetermined path that it must follow due to the laws of physics, everything can be traced back to the first movement of a particle. Since the first movement, the future has been set in stone because no particle could move in any other way than what it has because of how the particles have been forced to move by its interactions with other particles due to the forces they have on each other. Therefore, since the moment of the Big Bang, every event in the Universe has been following a preset, inevitable and unchangeable course of events and will continue to do so into infinity.

Free Will and Destiny Theory

This theory provides interesting thoughts on the concept of 'free will' because, as we are simply a series of reactions and movement of particles that has been predetermined since the dawn of time. Then all the actions we take must too be predetermined.
