Neighborhood naming convention
In case anyone hadn't noticed, Wikipedia:Communities strawpoll is voting on a uniform naming convention for all neighborhoods of U.S. cities. The proposition currently leading by a wide margin would apparently entail renaming most New York City neighborhood articles to something like neighborhood, Syracuse, New York. older ≠ wiser 19:07, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Some neighborhoods in Syracuse – Eastwood, Elmwood, Danforth, Salina, Syracuse (downtown), and I think Geddes and Onondaga – were originally incorporated villages and should have their own articles reflecting their history both before and after annexation. Also, some of the towns and villages have historians. DeWitt just embarked on a project to upgrade their historian's pay and resources, and East Syracuse has a historian who's very gung ho. ~~Clarkpark~~
Belated welcome to the family of city WikiProjects
I'm a member of WikiProject Louisville, and I just wanted to offer my best wishes, and also technical support (if you should need any) for your new city WikiProject. Cheers! Stevie is the man! Talk • Work 16:21, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
As the nearest local WikiProject (New York state lacking one), your project may be interested in the AfD on Eastview Mall. This AfD could help set precedent for keeping articles on shopping centers in the future. --AlexWCovington (talk) 06:29, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
New NY WikiProject
Greetings. At long last, a WikiProject for New York State has been created at WP:WPNYS. I can add this WikiProject as a descendant project of WP:WPNYS if no one objects. Regards, TMF T - C 21:52, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Requested Move of Syracuse Post-Standard
I requested a move of Syracuse Post-Standard to The Post-Standard since this is the real name of the newspaper. If you support/object, see Talk:Syracuse Post-Standard. -newkai t-c 20:45, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Project directory
Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 19:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
