Articles I created

XTools - Very nice tool, but has what I consider a to be bug: I am shown as the creator of pages which I created as a redirect and which another editor replaced with an article

Motorsport

  • Charles Montier - This came about because I deleted an article about his steam car, but made a note to revisit Montier the person as he appeared to be notable. We got what I consider to be an interesting article out of it.
  • Ferdinand Montier - May as well write about the son at the same time
  • Louise Aitken-Walker - Notable female rally driver. Shocking that she didn't have an article as late as 2007.

Rewrites/very major edits

These are articles which I didn't start myself, but where I made major edits almost as though I began the article myself.

KLF articles

The KLF on the front page of the English Wikipedia, 9 March 2007

I've worked on (I think) all of the articles within the scope of WP:KLF and have all of them watchlisted.

My user page shows the number of articles I have helped promoted to GA status. I will increment that number each time I help with the promotion of another. I will not decrement it nor record here if an article is demoted. Here is the list of those articles, where I was a or the major contributor, excluding the 3 GA articles which later became FAs:

Current submissions:

WP:KLF GAs/former GAs not claimed by me as mostly the work of User:Vinoir:

Possible future projects:

  • Apple Corps to GA, because it interests me
  • Bill Drummond was last assessed at B (but may need updating). GA shouldn't be unreachable?
  • K Foundation Burn a Million Quid from GA to FA, because it's a fascinating article [on the other hand, since Vinoir's retirement I no longer have a fabulous writing partner to bounce ideas off and share the workload with]
  • The KLF ought to be at least GA. Looking at it, I can't see how it could possibly fail with at worst a review, some cleaning, and a re-review. It has over 100 references and notes and still reads quite well.
  • Perhaps the under construction 2023: A Trilogy can go straight to GA nom when done? [that would probably have to follow once I have read the book and also looked for other reviews etc, not the first draft working with the sources already provided. I won't have time to take this near GA level in one swoop and certainly not if I have to read a Trilogy first]

Categories I created

Includes Category:Apple Corps, Category:The KLF / Category:Jimmy Cauty / Category:Bill Drummond, Category:The Shamen, Category:Cheltenham, Category:Tewkesbury, Category:Parlophone, and subcategories of those; plus Category:John Peel. I have also undertaken major revamps of Category:Gloucestershire and Category:South Gloucestershire. I've now created too many categories to bother listing them.

  • {{KLF}}
  • {{Todo-Named}} - This seems to have gone, but my concept (and possibly my code - grrr... - GPL...) has been merged into {{todo}}
  • {{Todo-Plain}}

Image uploads

A lot of images I uploaded very early in my editing career were album covers and the like and were deleted as part of the great non-free-content purge in the late 2000s. I surveyed my deleted edits in the File namespace in February 2020 and (note to self) propose to not do it again: Unfortunately, consensus and policy appears to rule out the use of album cover images in discographies, unless there is extensive critical commentary, so those deletions were fair even if I don't agree with the policy (Wikipedia will never become the "Encyclopedia of popular music" I hoped it would be, so it doesn't really matter, and we have Discogs.com if we want to see album covers). I'm not so happy with the deterioration of The KLF. Many of the other deleted images were replaced or moved to Commons or simply don't qualify for use here on Wikipedia today.
