Chidi Kwubiri

Chidi Kwubiri (* 1966 in Umuahia, Nigeria) is a Nigerian artist. He has been drawing and painting since his childhood. At school, he devoted his time and energy to learning the basic principles of perspective, still life and figurative drawings.

In 1993, Kwubiri participated as a guest student in the masterclass of Michael Buthe at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, shortly thereafter becoming a regular student and studying painting from 1994 to 2002 at the same arts academy in the masterclass of A. R. Penck.[1]

Kwubiri now lives and works with his family in Pulheim near Cologne. He had numerous individual and group exhibitions in Germany and other countries. He designed, among other things, the lenten veil of the German Catholic charity Misereor for 2017 and 2018.[2][3]
