Coprime approximation to pi

There is an insane method of estimating pi given by one R. Chartres in Philosophical Magazine from 1840 based on the probability of coprimality. SpinningSpark 08:24, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Defining π with circumference without integral calculus

In his book, Remmert referred to integral definitions, not to the circumference definition. Not all definitions of π with circumference rely on integral calculus. You can use polygonal paths and then define arc length as a limit of a sum of certain lengths of line segments. This does not make use of derivatives and integrals. You can then prove that this definition is equivalent to the integral-derivative definition of arc length, but you do not have to. The "Definition" subsection should be edited accordingly.
