The Iraqi Kurdistan Flag in the info box

The flag shown in the info box belongs to Iraqi Kurdistan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_Kurdistan), which is an officially accepted autonomous region. It directly follows that this flag cannot represent Kurdistan, which is the name of a geo-cultural region. I therefore suggest that the flag be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:810D:283F:F125:D8AF:F409:96FC:D780 (talk) 22:53, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Separate section for birds

I have reverted this as per WP:EXCESSDETAIL. The page does not need separate sections for every single animal species in the region. Catharsis of Mind (talk) 07:25, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

English pronunciation

The Engish pronunciations are wrong. Whether you say "Kurdistann" or "Kurdistahn", the main stress in English is always on the first syllable. It is true that in Kurdish you say "kurdiSTAN", but in English you say "KURdistan". Please correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.204.70.82 (talk) 17:29, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

PS: Correcting means to invert the little strokes at the top and at the bottom. That is [ˈkɜːrdɪˌstɑːn], [ˈkɜːrdɪˌstæn].

independence vote

I just read this article, but don't see anything yet about it on wikipedia. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the subject to make an update, but it seemed relevant to this page. --Lasunncty (talk) 01:46, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

There is information about this at Iraqi Kurdistan independence referendum, 2017 and also on Iraqi Kurdistan (although it hasn't been updated with results). Note this article also doesn't have any mention Iraqi Kurdistan independence referendum, 2005, my personal opinion it is too specific to the Kurds in Iraq, and too low impact to deserve mention here. There is a claim that Turkey backs Al Nusra in the Syrian Civil War clause within the History section. Its reference is Ref. No:68. However in the reference it clearly states that Turkey denies it is helping to Al Nusra. Also the reference is a new from a newspaper and does not openly states that Turkey (with any found) clearly supports Al Nusra as it stated on this page as if it does. It cannot be known for sure whether Turkey's actions somehow indirectly have helped in any kind of measure Al Nusra, but the claim in this page and its reference do not align. Therefore herein statement Turkey backs Al Nusra in Syria is unfounded and should immediately be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.138.14.112 (talk) 07:45, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

The first one didn't work. I found an updated link on the site. The second one now has a different version of the map here, but I didn't change it in the article. --Lasunncty (talk) 08:52, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Change the picture of Kurdistan to this picture, represented by the link: http://www.institutkurde.org/images/cartes_and_maps/ckur100.gif. I think this because it is not true. Turkey's part looks small because of many Kurds in Turkey lying, saying that they are Ethnic Turks. Ibrak.01 (talk) 17:45, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

I'm sorry but we cannot change the picture to that one as maps are copyrighted. In addition, whether or not they are "lying" as you claim would need to be backed up with reliable sources. Your own opinion on the matter is completely irrelevant. --Majora (talk) 19:27, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

Remove the line or clarify: "What will help prevent refugee waves to Europe and United States." It is out of context and seems like a leftover from a previous edit (removal) from that section. Geeborg (talk) 00:36, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Cities

There are Turkish cities(Diyarbakır, Mardin, Urfa, Van) listed in Largest Kurdistan cities. But these cities belongs to Turkey. People who live there accept it. Yes they are mostly Kurds but it doesnt matter. I would like you to change it. And there is a map and this is also weird. Compare it with Turkey Map https://www.nationsonline.org/maps/turkey-map.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by Minoset266 (talkcontribs) 14:21, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

They are Kurdish-populated settlements in the geo-cultural region of Kurdistan. Them being part of Turkey is irrelevant. --Ahmedo Semsurî (talk) 14:36, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

These cities are part of Northern Kurdistan, and Northern Kurdistan is located in nowadays Turkey. They can be listed in both Kurdistan cities and Turkey cities. Serchia (talk) 00:47, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
