  • Comment: As the creator of the previous (deleted) version of the article on this YouTube channel, I would definitely suggest approving the article. The subject of the article acquires notability per WP:N as it is the recipient of a major local award (Mazhavil Manorama Award). Further, as a resident of Kerala, I can vouch for its popularity in Malayalam speaking world, especially in this state which is a densely populated one with 35 million people, which is more than the population of the Netherlands and Belgium put together. As an aside, I would also suggest comparing this channel with such YouTube channels as Red Letter Media and The Viral Fever which have similar ratings (as recorded by internet analytical tools); both these channels have C-Class articles on them. jojo@nthony (talk) 03:52, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: A slight correction: Given this title's deletion history, I will want to have more than one pair of eyes say "yes" to this. This means either another experienced AFC reviewer to say "yes, this looks more than promising, it is not at risk of falling at AFD" or, preferably an administrator who can peek at the old versions so he can say "yes, things have changed since 2019." davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:02, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: Consider if this YouTube channel meets the Notability criteria for the Malayalam language: Wikipedia:Notability [ml]. If it does, consider writing an article in that language. As DGG said, from the looks of things, this does NOT meet the notability criteria for acceptance in the English Wikipedia. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:02, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: This is a PR notice for a non notable youtubechannel. The references a re usual PR that is found in newspapers DGG ( talk ) 23:18, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

History

Karikku's initiative was taken by Nikhil Prasad, who launched the channel on Youtube in 2016 and began to ensemble a cast for it .[8].[9][10] Karikku released it's first video in 2018 titled, "FIFA World Cup 2018".[11]

The channel got its breakthrough through the series, "Thera Para", which discusses the life of four jobless young men, adding a mixture of satire in it.[12][13][14] The series was later grouped into a movie and released in 2020 in Youtube.[15][16][17][18]

Karikku is widely recognized in the state of Kerala for the humorous incidents portrayed in the uploads.[2][19]

It's popularity grew rapidly throughout 2019, with the addition of new cast and plots.[20] Movie stars like Saniya Iyappan[21], Tovino Thomas, Rajisha Vijayan and Aju Varghese have had guest roles in certain episodes.[22]Their most popular upload was 'Arrangement Kalyanam'.[23][24]

Karikku also created a sub-channel- 'Karikku Fliq'[25] , which uploaded videos of a series named, 'Rock Paper Scissors' devoted to female characters only.[26]

In 2020, after a small break, due to the Corona Virus crisis and the resulting lockdown, Karikku gradually restarted to upload videos, begining with video calls[27] and later moving back to plotted videos.
