The Jabalia camp market massacre[1] was a terrorist attack carried out by Israeli forces during the October 2023 Gaza−Israel conflict on October 9, 2023. According to Hamas, the attack resulted in 50 civilian deaths.[2][3]

Background

The Jabalia refugee camp market is considered one of the most lively areas in the Gaza Strip. It is located in the northeast of Gaza City. There is a residential area in the market, the Al-Ternis area, which is considered part of the market, the largest commercial market in Gaza.[4]

On 9 October 2023, an airstrike killed more than 50 people including children in Jabalia camp, a Palestinian refugee camp located 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) north of Jabalia in the Gaza Strip.[5][6] Another refugee camp, Shati, was also massacred.
