Daniel Morer Cabrera (born 5 February 1998) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Atlético Ottawa in the Canadian Premier League on loan from Primeira Liga club Famalicão.

Early life

Morer began playing youth soccer at his school Escuela Valldemia at age four, before joining CE Mataró at age seven.Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). In 2009, he joined the Barcelona academy.[1] He won the 2017–18 UEFA Youth League with Barcelona.[2][3]

Club career

In July 2017, he was promoted to FC Barcelona B in Segunda División.[4] Morer made his professional debut on 19 August 2017, in a substitute appearance against Real Valladolid.[5] In July 2019, he renewed his contract for a further season, with an option to extend to the summer of 2021.[5]


In August 2019, he was called up to the Barcelona for a La Liga match for the first time, serving as an unused substitute.[6][7]


In September 2020, he joined Portuguese Primeira Liga club Famalicão on a contract until 2025.[8][9] The transfer fee was €400,000, with Barcelona retaining 45% of his economic rights.[10][11]
