Miroslav Škoro

Miroslav Škoro (English transliteration: Miroslav Shkoro, born 29 July 1962 in Osijek) is a Croatian musician. He first emerged onto the Croatian music scene with his debut Ne dirajte mi ravnicu. He co-wrote this album along with Pennsylvania native, tamburitza master Jerry Grcevich. Ne dirajte mi ravnicu produced a song of the same name which would go on to be one of the most famous Croatian songs ever.

Škoro's music is characterized by its traditional tamburitza sound, updated to appeal to a contemporary pop audience. In 2002 Škoro had a collaboration with Marko Perković on the song Reci, brate moj ("Tell me, brother of mine"). He is also the president of Croatia Records, the largest record company in the country.

In 2003 Škoro gained great deal of popularity as a judge in Story Supernova Music Talents, reality show aired on Nova TV. Many found his witty comments directed at contestants amusing, although at one instance his description of Ivana Radovniković's anatomy was criticised as sexist and in poor taste, since Radovniković was aged 17 at the time.

Miroslav Škoro is also known as a follower of Croatia's right-wing politics, with songs like Sude mi ("I'm on trial") which is critical of the ICTY, to say the least. He was also quoted as saying "don't touch Gotovina", as a defence for war crimes suspect Ante Gotovina.
