Newport Central Catholic High School (NCC) is a coed privates secondary school in Newport, Kentucky. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington. Founded in 1896 with a Roman Catholic affiliation, it serves students in grades K-12 in the Northern Kentucky area, including the neighborhoods of Newport, Ft. Thomas, Bellevue, Dayton, Southgate, and Wilder. The principal is Bob Noll, and the assistant principals are Jenny Mertle and Shelley Wykle. The mascot is the Thoroughbred, and the school colors are blue and gold[1]. NCC is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
Demographics
In 2007–2008 school year, the total student population was 482. 97% were white and 3% were students of color. 25% of students are on some form of financial aid.[1].
