The Sealand national football team is the team that represents the Principality of Sealand. The Sealand National Football Association was founded in 2003. In 2004 they played their first game against Åland Islands national football team drawing 2–2.[2] All players on the Sealand team were members of Vestbjerg Vintage Idrætsforening. In 2006, they suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Northern Cyprus[3]
On December 23, 2009, Scottish author Neil Forsyth was appointed head of the SNFA [4] He stated a goal of having the nation qualify for the VIVA World Cup
