The article suggests the plant to be far more arid-loving than true. Not in the least bit a desert plant, it's range approaches the edge of the Karoo but largely is found in areas with reasonably high summer rainfall, at least for succulents plants. Also wants a good amount of water in cultivation, just not much while in it's short dormancy.

This also does NOT want full sun by any means, whoever wrote that likely isn't growing this plant well or hasn't done any research into its habitat. Almost always shaded, generally with very little direct light. Why do you think it has a massive inflorescence that clambers in all directions? To seek out the light that it's leaves can't reach. Extended direct exposure in cultivation only means a higher likelihood of damaging your plant, which for this species is often manifested by large brown spots that vaguely look like the skin is slowly boiling, and a necessity to water far more often. The flowers are less abundant with less light, but obviously Bowiea still doesn't need very much light to flower, and no grower has this plant for it's flowers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.154.150 (talk) 03:22, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
