Connor Hobbs (born January 4, 1997) is a Canadian ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Wynyard Monarchs in the Long Lake Hockey League (LLHL).

Drafted 143rd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Hobbs spent 3 years with their AHL affiliate Hershey Bears before retiring from professional hockey due to suffering multiple injuries during his time professionally.

Playing career

Amateur

Hobbs was selected with the 67th pick overall in the fourth round by the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.[2] While playing AAA hockey for the Saskatoon Blazers, he was traded to the Medicine Hat Tigers along with Zach Hodder and Logan McVeigh for Dylan Busenius, Jayden Hart, and a sixth-round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft on January 1, 2013.[3] Hobbs finished the season still classified as a prospect with the Blazers, playing 38 games with 6 goals and 10 assists for 18 points.

On January 5, 2015, Hobbs was traded along with a third-round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and a second-round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft to the Regina Pats for Kyle Burroughs and Dryden Hunt.[4]

Personal life

Connor has a younger brother, Declan, who plays as a goaltender for the Saskatchewan Huskies.[5][6]
