Not deleted, just reverted. If you continuously reinstate it after multiple reversions, you could wind up blocked for that (not by me, as a non-administrator I can't do that, but someone who is could). See the policy about that here. JeffSpaceman (talk) 21:50, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We were both checking your edits at the same time when you made a fifth edit. I made two additional edits to revert your edits and to make sure the final results were accepted.
Some Wikipedia articles draw editors who may commit vandalism, engage in edit warring, or insistently push a point of view without seeking consensus. Animal testing is likely protected because the subject is controversial.
You have done nothing wrong—the original content is now displayed and your edits are preserved in the article history. Best practice if your edit is reverted by another editor is to start a discussion on the article talk page, not to re-revert.
After you have a bit more experience editing (as indicated by your edit count) your edits to pending changes protected articles will not be reviewed and will immediately go live. The total number of edits required is very, very low.
The advice JeffSpaceman gave is very good. I will add a few more tips—
  • when you make changes, consider the structure of the entire sentence structure, evn the entire paragraph or section (don't add info that's already there. Check your grammar. Donot change or delete text that is supported by a citation to reliable sources; if you change such text, you likely need a different citation.
  • At the beginning of your editing career, avoid articles that may be controversial.
  • Find some simple, short articles and try to improve the writing. Make the text clearer and more concise.
  • There are many policies and rules in Wikipedia. It's unnecessary to learn many in the beginning if you start with simple edits, one at a time.
  • If you avoid edit warring, act in good faith (assume other editors act in good faith also), avoid behavior that is disruptive or insulting (and do not reply in kind—try to open up a discussion on the article talk page) you will have an enjoyable start here.
  • Set up a named account—it's easy , more secure, and more anonymous (the most difficult part of setting up an account is choosing a name—keep it short, one or two words that are easy or other editors to remember (like mine); you can add colors and fancy typefaces later—I added color to make it easier to find my comments in a long talk page discussion).
