Hey Loadmaster. I was wondering where the dup. link was w.r.t. this edit. I thought I'd ask before adding it back in because I'm probably missing something. -- drrngrvy tlk @ 19:25, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. Glad I asked first now ;) *tips hat* -- drrngrvy tlk @ 13:09, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:MichaelShermer1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:MichaelShermer1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yamla 15:59, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "I uploaded a new image of Shermer from his latest newsletter, which is obviously a promo headshot, available on his website. Are you sure you're not confusing the new image MichaelShermer1.jpg with the previously deleted older image MichaelShermer02.jpg? Of course, I could be doing the wrong thing here."

It does indeed look like a promotional image but if you read the license text on the image page, you'll see that it still requires a detailed fair-use rationale. --Yamla 16:37, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I sent an email to Mr. Shermer asking for permission. — Loadmaster 19:14, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See also Wikipedia:Example requests for permission and Wikipedia:Publicity photos.

The Image:MichaelShermer1.jpg image I uploaded now had full GFDL licensing from Michael Shermer himself, who owns the copyrights to the image. — Loadmaster 16:41, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is awesome news! Way to go, Loadmaster. Your effort is much appreciated. --Yamla 16:45, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Saint-Eustache

Thank you for bringing my attention to Battle of Saint-Eustache. --Liberlogos 07:01, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Probably already know this

But in case you don't. If you use {{fact}}, you get this [citation needed] which means it's more easily to identify that a source is needed Nil Einne 17:57, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Adama Maneuver

Zealots are trying to erase mention of "The Adama Maneuver" from wikipedia by claiming it's not relevant enough to merit two lines of text in the trivia section. You created the redirect. Would express your opinion about it on the Talk page for "Exodus"? — Energman 2006-11-24 08:45:57
