I joined Wikipedia to provide facts in regards to patents and technology, my goal is to contribute to Wikipedia in this area and provide a neutral point of view. Because the term "patent troll" is highly subjective. When I first joined Wikipedia, some folks were expressing a subjective opinion in a Wikipedia article for [[Jay Walker]] saying that he was a "patent troll" Jay Walker is a world-renowned prolific inventor and founder of priceline.com.

For the record, I am NOT being paid by anyone to make the edits that I've made. I am contributing to Wikipedia in topics that I am very familiar with, which is patents and technology. My goal is to bring a neutral point of view to Wikipedia, you can see I've done that in articles in the past, one example is [[Rambus]]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Since you keep removing notes from your talk page, I'll again link you to conflict of interest guidelines, reliable sources (i.e., not the company's own PR copy), and undisclosed paid editing policies. You clearly have a conflict of interest, and your entire history has been POV-pushing in support of non-practicing entities. ST47 (talk) 01:15, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ST47 I responded to your accusation that I am being paid to make these edits. I told you on your talk page that I am not. I am not being paid to make any of the edits that I made. I am an engineer in the tech industry that understands patents and technology. There is a wide misconception in the media that companies are non-practicing entities when in fact they are not. Take a look at my history of edits, Rambus, was called a non-practicing entity at one point, how ridiculous is that? I will be appealing your block.

Just because someone writes facts that you do not like does not mean that they are not true or that the person is paid to write them. In the case of VirnetX the company produces actual software, take a look at the google play store.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virnetx.gabriel.GabrielMobile Patent Facts (talk) 02:10, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

OK; I took some time to review why ST47 blocked me, and now I understand the two reasons why I was blocked and it will never happen again in the future.

I understand reason #1

I realize now that I did not include a source from an independent third party to corroborate the information that I was including in the article about a company that I was writing about. I realize now that, I only included from the company's website, which now is not good. I now understand why this was viewed as advertising or possibly having a conflict of interest.

In the future, when I am editing an article about a company or person, I will always include information that is from a third party independent source and not just information sourced from a company or person. In all of my 100+ edits on Wikipedia, I have always included source material from both a company and independent third party, but in this instance where I was blocked, I did not include a third party source; I was wrong and I apologize.

For the article I was blocked on, VirnetX, I now found a third party source, the Google Play store, that shows this company produces mobile software. I would appreciate being unblocked so that I can continue to contribute to Wikipedia in areas in which I have knowledge, technology, and patents.

I joined Wikipedia to provide facts in regards to patents and technology, my goal is to contribute to Wikipedia in this area and provide a neutral point of view. Because the term "patent troll" is highly subjective. When I first joined Wikipedia, some folks were expressing a subjective opinion in a Wikipedia article for Jay Walker saying that he was a "patent troll" Jay Walker is a world-renowned prolific inventor and founder of priceline.com.

For the record, I am NOT being paid by anyone to make the edits that I've made. I am contributing to Wikipedia in topics that I am very familiar with, which are patents and technology. My goal is to bring a neutral point of view to Wikipedia, you can see I've done that in articles in the past, one example is Rambus

I understand reason #2

I don't think my user name promotes anything, but if I have to change my username in order to continue to contribute to Wikipedia then so be it, I will change it. If my user name has to be changed, let's change it to PF2600
