I do not believe the map would be a derivative work but a synthesis of information from the available sources. Also, being a derivative work was not the reason for requesting deletion. There seemed to be a lot of POV pushing on both sides of the debate and some of the sources cited look biased themselves. I am certainly no expert on the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, and I'm not sure that the image is right or wrong. The country only existed for two years and barely was recognized as a country by other governments. Much of the border territory was apparently disputed so I can see why there is a heated debate over what the borders were. However, from a Wikipedia deletion process perspective,since no consensus was achieved, I followed the guideline "When in doubt, don't delete." You may wish to read WP:BLUDGEON as it relates to your comments at this debate. Replying to every message at a DRV (or other discussion) tends to get diminishing returns, as users will stop engaging with you because they perceive you will argue with everything they say. Banak Cathedral

Hi Sardur, I did some very productive research at the local Armenian bookstore! I found an Armenian book on Classical Armenian architecture published in 2003 in Yerevan (it's in Armenian). It turns out the name of the Cathedral is Բանակ (Banak) and not "Bana" which is what Georgians who wanted to claim the church as theirs. Indeed, the Banak Cathedral is 100% Armenian and very similar to Zvartnots in architecture. I will update the article soon... Best, Serouj (talk) 05:22, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Location of Surp Arakelots Monastery

Hi Sardur, :) That is a good question! It took me some time -- I had found it about a month ago. I used the description of its location from the VirtualANI page for this monastery (see the "Description" section) to find it on Google Earth. I got some candidate sites and then I compared the pictures of the monastery on VirtualANI to the view from the site when I tilt the Google Earth application to view in 3D. With the Panoramio photo, I think we have visual confirmation... On another note, I bought the English version of the Armenian Art book by Thierry which you used significantly for the French article; I can't wait to go through it... Photographs from Research on Armenian Architecture

Good day, Sardur! I wanted to let you know that I have gotten in touch with the Research on Armenian Architecture organization, and they have agreed to allow any of their photos (with some exceptions) to be used on Wikipedia and for any purpose so long as attribution is made to RAA. The exceptions may be those pictures taken by individuals outside the RAA, in which case the RAA may request special permission. As one of those "individuals outside the RAA", I can confirm that I will not allow any of the pictures I supplied to RAA to be used on Wikipedia, and said pictures were supplied to RAA on the condition that they would not be used by third parties without permission. Meowy 20:54, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Sardur, thanks for the heads up. That Brandt is a funny guy... Especially since he has no case for the Church of Kish article. All of this Caucasian Albania stuff exploded in their face when it turned out that these people were long extinct by the 12th century, some of them assimilating into Armenians and others perhaps among the Azeris... I guess I am having a problem with watching the article page and the talk page allike. All the changes are reported but those that the user Hittit makes. Are you having the same problems (if you are watching those pages) or it is only with me? Do you know any reason why it should take place?

Those are not really reverts, second, the closure of the AfD and it's conclusion are very questionable. You just can't close a AfD which has 74% of votes for delete and that there were many votes having entered the last days. Particularly when the article was the recreation of similar articles deleted previously. The logical course of events would have been to wait. Someone should replace it for deletion requesting additional votes. Once each side have voted, then will come editors who are neither Armenian nor Turk.

Rational for deletion

• Fails WP:SYNTH
• References have been manipulated, when this was brought the author of the article failed to reply. (See my comment)
• The content is already extensivaly included in other articles, two of those subjects even have their own articles.
