Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Christian Rosa

Reason: High level BLP violation and libelouse material by very specific IP range s in the recent months as well as unauthorized contibutors. Panghea (talk) 16:45, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:00, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Note: @Panghea: It's pretty clear you have a WP:COI, but it's equally clear the challenged content should not be added back without a discussion and consensus. Please raise concerns at WP:BLPN. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:00, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

R160 (New York City Subway car)

Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent sockpuppetry for 1 year not indefinitely because that would lead too much for other username are not extended confirmed it has been set Indefinitely by Cabayi so please change it to 1 year is much better. (CC) 108.162.16.250 (talk) 18:53, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I hate indefinite protection, but you should probably ask @Cabayi: about it. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:12, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • It was previously on an indef semi protection set by El C. The page was cited in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rgalo10 by Eostrix & EdJohnston. Protection needed to be increased to ECo and I wasn't comfortable letting all protection lapse at a fixed point. Cabayi (talk) 19:27, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This particular sock master has figured out how to bypass AC, so EC is required if we are to stop their recurring vandalism. The protection log shows disruption dating back nearly a decade. Maybe it should lapse at some point, but probably more than a year (3-5 years).--Eostrix  (🦉 hoot hoot🦉) 19:38, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So the lesser disruption is to ask those who would contribute constructively to make edit requests. If such a time arises that the edit requests show that the current protection is inconvenient or unneeded, a reduction can be considered then. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:56, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Robert W. Malone

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Page was created days ago, Malone announced it on his Twitter account and looks like his supporters are arriving to make sure no mention of Malone's promotion of Covid misinformation is on the page. Sgerbic (talk) 19:14, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Favonian (talk) 19:43, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of football clubs in England by competitive honours won

Reason: High level of vandalism and edit-warring, including historicly and recently with newly created accounts. Article has previously been semi-protected at various points in time, but only ever short-term. Clearly this requires a long-term semi protection. Example Article Name

Reason: Recent IP vandalism, including BLP issues. CarbonX (talk) 21:16, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
