The "10th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan (1991–2001)" Medal is the medal of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, approved by Law No. 331-IIQ dated May 17, 2002.[1][2]
Medal award status[edit]
The "10th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan (1991–2001)" Medal was awarded to officers, second lieutenants and midshipmen who completed active military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan by June 26, 2002. In addition to those who showed success in combat training, awards were also given to retired officers from the reserve or Armed Forces who took an active part in the establishment and strengthening of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

General description of the medal[edit]
- The "10th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan (1991–2001)" Medal is a bronze shield with a narrow plate with national ornaments, the lower side of which is framed by a wreath of oak leaves and the Armed Forces on the background of the colors of the National Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
- The dimensions of the medal are 34 mm x 36 mm.
- Inside the shield, the words "Azerbaijan" and "Armed Forces" are written in gold letters above the Armed Forces emblem.
- At the bottom of the shield, in the middle and above the wreath, there is the number "10" in white. From the number "10", two gold tanks are depicted on the left, two warships on the right, on a blue background outside the shield, above the wreaths, three warplanes are depicted on the left, three warplanes are depicted on the left. aircraft missiles on the right.
- The back side has a smooth surface, the text "10 Years of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1991-2001)" is written in the middle, and an eight-pointed star with a crescent is depicted on the national ornament. .
- The medal is attached to a 27mm x 43mm rectangular black ribbon with a collar and a looped fastener. On the black band, vertical stripes of 3 mm wide blue, 4 mm wide red, 1 mm wide white and 10 mm wide green vertical stripes are depicted sequentially from the edges to the center.
- The medal is accompanied by a 27mm x 9mm die with an element to be attached to clothing, covered with the same black ribbon.[4]
