The 1999 Players Championship was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour contested from March 25–28 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It was the 26th Players Championship. David Duval won the tournament by two strokes over Scott Gump. The victory allowed Duval to surpass Tiger Woods for number one in the Official World Golf Ranking.[2]
