The 2005 Football League One play-off Final was contested by Hartlepool United and Sheffield Wednesday at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. Sheffield Wednesday won 4–2 in extra time, with goals from Jon-Paul McGovern, Steven MacLean, Glenn Whelan and Drew Talbot.[1][2]
