Plot

Jaiveer Paramveer Chopra (Hussain Kuwajerwala) is a wealthy man. He is the son of Paramveer Chopra (Tiku Talsania) who is a multimillionaire and the owner of Chopra industries. Jaiveer is studying in college falls in love with a girl named Jaya (Parvati Vaze). He, however, has lied to Jaya that he is poor (because when his father was in college he had also lied to a girl (Jai's mother) whom he loved and after marriage revealed that he is not poor but rich). After college, both decide to get married and go to their parents. Jai has a welcome party for Jaya. Meanwhile, at Jaya's house, Jai learns that her father, Lalit Rao Lokhande (Sharad Ponkshe) abhors the rich. He devises an elaborate ruse to play the part of a poor man and comes up with a fake mother Miss Monica Malpani, their innocent and boastful neighbour (Rakhee Tandon), fake sister Urmila, a sales girl, (Urmila Tiwari), fake caretaker 'Daima' KK Paramveer Chopra's friend's daughter and his personal assistant and his best friend Deepak Tijori (Gaurav Dubey) acts as sage uncle. Jai constructs a fake poor house beside his mansion with different door to enter from one house to another. Jaya, Lokhande and his servant Sudhakar (Amish Tanna) arrive at their house. Lokhande is impressed with Jai's family and starts to live with them. Amidst various circumstances on the verge of Jai's truth being exposed in front of Lokhande, however, Jai and Jaya get married because of Lokhande losing his memory due to Sudhakar dropping a coconut on his head clumsily making him forget the secret of Jai and his family's richness.

Jai's married life is frequently troubled by the doubtful Sudhakar and Jaya's attempts to get a job into Jai's company as a doctor which she is unaware of. Jaya spies on Jai after she overhears a conversation between Jai and KK (Priya Raina) their plan to hide the family's rich secrets in front of Lokhande and Jaya. On the verge of investigating the truth of Jai's reality, Jaya disguises herself as a maid in the Chopra mansion finally knowing about each and every secret of Jai's richness. Jai, however, comes to know about Jaya's disguise and is a step ahead of her and with Deepak's help expose Jaya's disguise as the whole family gets shocked to know that she knows the family secret now. Jai appeals to her that the whole drama of bringing poor was done not to hurt her feelings and to ensure her intact love for him but Jaya is stubborn and refuses to listen to him and as she plans to leave the house ,she accidentally slips off the stairs injuring her head and loses partial memory remembering only the events before her marriage with Jai with her memory stuck in 2012.

Lokhande brings her back to Jai's house and has to lie with Jai's family to Jaya that she is still in the year 2012. In the aftermath, Jai tries to convince Jaya into marrying him but she refuses and also refers to Jai as mendhak (A.K.A frog). Meanwhile, to complicate Jai's fresh love story again a new villain Kundan Kushal Punjabi is introduced who wishes to marry Jaya for the sake of acquiring Lokhande's land and remaining wealth. Jai sees right through Kundan's dirty motives challenging him to two rounds of competition with the winner who will eventually marry Jaya. Jai loses both the rounds of arm wrestling and the dance competition deliberately to expose Kundan's motive in front of her. Jaya slaps Kundan and kicks him out as Jai and family rejoice. Jaya begins to develop feelings towards Jai but still feels he is not the right choice for her. Jai uses a clever ruse now of Gyanchand Mahabapu (who is none other than Deepak) to convince Jaya to marry Jai. Though Jai tries hard to please her like before, Jaya is still unwilling to marry Jai because of her doubts about him and his family. In a series of new events, however, when Jaya agrees to marry Jaiveer, the plan flops as Gyanchand/Deepak mistakenly fixes the wedding date in 2018 when Jaya is still living in the year 2012[due to her amnesia].

The plot moves forward with Jai and Jaya sharing a few romantic moments but Lokhande discovers the truth that Jai and his family are rich. Even as a climax arises in which the Chopras are scared that their truth is finally going to be exposed, Jaiveer finds out that the real lokhande has been kidnapped and the plotter who discovered the truth is actually an imposter.Meanwhile, lokhande is suffering from a sleep-related condition that the Chopras mistakenly consider to be his death. Jai is shattered to hear his father in law aka Lokhande is now no more but realises their mistaken predicament after he is revived and clears the air about the disorder.

Jaya finds out in one of the instances that Jai is lying along with Deepak and the comedy turns serious with Jaya trying to call the police and get Jai arrested.Lokhande unable to tolerate Jaya's rudeness and arrogance towards Jai gets infuriated and reveals the truth in a shocking climax that Jai is her husband and she's the one suffering from memory loss because of which she has misjudged everyone from the past few months. Deepak, Urmila, Miss Malpani and premchand all convince Jaya to approach Jai even as she realises her mistakes and reunites with jai.

Jai in an attempt to revive her memory decorates his room with all precious moments of their journey of love and marriage. Jaya regrets and apologises to jai for having to endure her arrogance during the course of her memory loss but Jai forgives her and proposes his love to her and they happily reunite ever after.[7]
