Hirotaka Asahisa (朝久 裕貴, born 21 June 1996) is a Japanese kickboxer. He is the current Wu Lin Feng 60 kg World champion.[1]
As of September 2020, he is the #5 ranked Bantamweight by Combat Press.[2] He was previously ranked in the flyweight top ten by Combat Press.[3]
Kickboxing career
Asahisa first fought with K-1 during Krush 49, when he faced Shoya Masumoto. Shoya won the fight by TKO, late in the third round. The two of them would later fight a rematch during Krush 56, with Asahisa once again losing, this time by a majority decision.[4]
After Krush 49, he fought during the Krush 52 event, facing Kento Ito. Asahisa pressured Ito, while Ito looked to maintain distance and point fight. Asahisa won the fight by a majority decision.[5]
During Krush 59, Asahisa won a majority decision against the future Krush champion and K-1 Grand Prix runner up Kaito Ozawa.[6]
Asahisa fought Haruma Saikyo during 2018 K-1 World Grand Prix, losing a split decision.[7][8]
Following his lost to Saikyo, Asahisa returned to WLF to fight Fang Feida.[9] Hirotaka won the fight by a second round TKO.
Hirotaka participated in the 2017 WLF 60 kg Tournament. He won decisions against Zhao Chongyang in the 1/8, Zhao Fuxiang in the quarter finals and Ncedo Gomba in the semi finals.[10][11] He lost to Javier Hernández by an extra round decision in the finals.
Asahisa participated in the 2018 Wu Lin Feng -60kg Tournament.[12] He defeated Chen Wende in the quarter finals by TKO and Djany Fiorenti by decision, and fought a rematch with Zhao Chongyang in the finals. The fight went into an extra, fourth round, where Hirotaka won the fight by a flying knee knockout.[13]
Hirotaka Asahisa defended his Wu Lin Feng 60 kg title during the 2018-19 WLF World Cup Final against Wang Junyu.[14] He knocked Junyu out with a fourth round flying knee.[15][16]
He won a unanimous decision against Tatsuya Oiwa during K-1 World GP 2020 in Fukuoka.[17]
