2016 single album by Blackpink
Square One (stylized in all caps ) is the first single album by South Korean girl group Blackpink . It was released digitally on August 8, 2016 by YG Entertainment and distributed by KT Music . The lyrics were written by Teddy Park , Bekuh Boom and iKON 's B.I while the music was composed by Teddy Park, Future Bounce and Bekuh Boom.[citation needed ]
Promotion
To promote Square One, Blackpink held its first live performances of "Whistle" and "Boombayah" at the SBS Inkigayo on August 14, 2016.[1] [2] A week later, on August 21, the group won its first award during a musical program for "Whistle" at Inkigayo.
Commercial performance
The tracks from the album, Whistle and Boombayah both debuted at the Gaon Digital Chart , on no. 1 and no. 7, respectively.
