Mounaragam (transl. Silent Symphony) is a Malayalam language is an Indian television soap opera that airs on Asianet and streams on Disney+Hotstar. It is an official remake of Telugu serial Mouna Raagam which airs in Star Maa.[2][3] The same story has been remade in Kannada, Tamil, Marathi and Hindi languages also. [4]
Plot
The series revolves around Kalyani (Aishwarya), a girl who is hated by her father and paternal grandmother. Her father, Prakashan, and his mother (Kalyani's paternal grandmother), hate having girl children. Her father Prakashan (Balaji) gives some poison to her mother Deepa (Padmini) during pregnancy. This makes the girl in the womb to lose her speech. As a result, the girl is born mute. Kalyani does all the housework and also sell milk house-to-house. Consequently, she meets a city boy Kiran (Naleef) who will follow her daily. Kalyani, only longs for the affection of her cold and distant father, and is oblivious to the love bestowed on her by Kiran. How will their life shape up?
