The Central District of Tabas County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان طبس) is in South Khorasan province, Iran.

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as a part of Yazd province) was 43,188 in 11,296 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 48,569 people in 13,755 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 52,528 inhabitants in 15,940 households, by which time the county had been transferred from Yazd to South Khorasan province.[2]
