Bhor taluka is a taluka in Haveli subdivision of Pune district of state of Maharashtra in India.[1] There are 195 villages and 1 town in Bhor Taluka.

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census of India, Bhor Taluka has a population of 186,116. The sex-ratio of Bhor Taluka is around 977 compared to 929 which is the state average of Maharashtra. The literacy rate of Bhor Taluka is 72.40% out of which 79.65% males are literate and 64.98% females are literate. The total area of Bhor is 860.09 sq.km with population density of 216 per sq.km.[2] Out of total population, 90.09% of population lives in Urban area and 9.91% lives in Rural area.[3]

Languages

The most spoken language is Marathi, which is also the sole official language of the region.

At the time of the 2011 Census of India, 96.63% of the population of Bhor Taluka spoke Marathi, 1.88% Hindi, and 1.49% spoke other languages as their first language.[4]
