Diversity
321 species

The spider genus Pholcus contains the cellar spider P. phalangioides, often called the "daddy longlegs". There are 321 accepted species in the genus according to May 2016 in World Spider Catalog.[1]

Confusion often arises because the name "Daddy longlegs" is also applied to two other unrelated arthropods: the Harvestman and the Crane Fly.
