Solstad Church (Template:Lang-no) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bindal Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located along the Bindalsfjorden in the village of Holm. It is one of the two churches for the Bindal parish which is part of the Sør-Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1888 by the architect Ole Scheistrøen. The church seats about 300 people.[1][2]

History

People in the Bindal parish historically worshiped in nearby Sømna until 1643 when a church was built at Solstad in Bindal, just 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) north of the village of Holm. That church remained for about a century and then during the 1700s, it was replaced on the same site with a new church. In 1888, the church in Solstad was disassembled and moved to the village of Lande in Brønnøy Municipality (where it stands today as Tosen Chapel), and the present (third) church was built in Holm.[3][4]
