Mangang is one of the seven clans of Meetei. It consists of several Yumnaks which are native peoples of ancient Kangleipak(now Manipur), one of the states of India.[1][2]
Origin
Mangang was the eldest son of Iputhou Pakhangba and Laikok Huimulei Puksikhombi. He was born inside kangla Palace, Imphal at morning when sunlight was somewhat reddish in colour. He ruled Kangleipak kingdom for several years from some century BC onwards. Ngasapa was the eldest son of Mangang.[3]
