Taranath Ranabhat (Nepali: तारानाथ रानाभाट) is a Nepalese politician. He was elected to the Pratinidhi Sabha in the 1999 election on behalf of the Nepali Congress.[1] Ranabhat served as its chairman from the same year.[2] He also served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal from August 1999 to May 2002. He is outspoken on his position that Nepal should be fedaralised into 5 provinces (although these should not be split along ethnic lines).[3]

He is infamous for his clownish display during the press conference to present the report of Royal Massacre investigation.[4][5]
