Akowonjo is a semi-urban community in Lagos State, Nigeria. It comes under the Alimosho local government area of Lagos state. It is populated by Aworis and non-indigenous peoples and comprises major settlements such as Omititun, Santos, Akowonjo, Egbeda, Sanni Olopa, Alimosho, Shasha, Orisunbare, Banrneke, Alabata, and Alaguntan.

It is bordered by six towns cum local government areas: Ikeja, Agege, Mosan Okunola, Egbeda-ldimu, Agbado-okeodo and Ejigbo.
