Fidor Bank is a German online bank,[1] founded in 2009. In 2015, it started a market foray into the UK.[2][3][4][5]

In July 2016, it was announced that Fidor Bank was being acquired by France's Groupe BPCE for an undisclosed amount. As of September 2016, Fidor Bank continued to operate under its own branding.[6]

On July 1st 2019 Fidor Bank has announced that it will be suspending its services in UK on September 15th 2019 due to uncertainties surrounding the UK market.[citation needed]
