The 1974 New Zealand gallantry awards recognised the gallantry of a policie inspector in dealing with an armed robber at the offices of The Evening Post in Wellington on 13 November 1973, and were announced via a Special Honours List on 4 October 1974, and backdated to 29 March 1974.[1]
