"Flower Way" (Korean: 꽃길; RR: Kkotgil) is a song by South Korean singer Sejeong released on November 22, 2016, by Jellyfish Entertainment and distributed by Stone Music Entertainment. The track was a promotional tool for Jellyfish Entertainment's digital music platform Jelly Box. "Flower Way" was placed first on the music show, Show Champion on November 30, 2016.[1]
Background
It was announced on November 23, 2016, Kim participated in Jellyfish Entertainment's music channel project Jelly Box and released the single "Flower Way" (Korean: 꽃길; RR: Kkotgil), produced by Zico, along with a music video.[2]
Composition
"Flower Way" was written and produced by South Korean rapper Zico. The lyrics were delicately crafted and heartfelt, and the composition and Sejeong’s delivery bolster its moving message. The lyrics expressed the person’s regret towards and appreciation for her mother, as well as a promise to bring a better future to her mother, and expresses one’s hope to meet only good happenings in life.
Commercial performance
Sejeong has achieved an all kill with her first solo song "Flower Way". As of November 24 at 1:30 a.m KST, Kim Sejeong’s song “Flower Road” sits in first place on all the major real-time music charts, including Melon, Mnet, Bugs, olleh, Soribada, Genie, Naver, and Monkey3. She has also topped the Monkey3 daily chart and places within the top 10 on the rest of the daily charts.[3]
Promotion
Sejeong has been promoting the track through a variety of music program appearances. She made her debut showcase on KBS' Music Bank on November 25.
