Brian Joseph Kirkland (born January 22, 1981) is an American politician from Pennsylvania currently serving as a Democratic member of the 159th Pennsylvania House of Representatives District. He replaced his uncle, Thaddeus Kirkland as representative in the Pennsylvania 159th district.[1]
Early life and education
Kirkland graduated from Coatesville Area High School[2] and attended East Stroudsburg University.[3]
Career
Kirkland served as Special Projects Coordinator for the city of Chester, Pennsylvania.[3]
Kirkland served as Director of Constituent Services for his Uncle, Thaddeus Kirkland during his tenure as state representative to the Pennsylvania 159th district.[3]
Kirkland was elected in 2016 as state representative to the Pennsylvania 159th district and replaced his Uncle Thaddeus Kirkland by defeating the Republican candidate Michael Ciach.[4]
Personal life
Kirkland lives in Chester, Pennsylvania and has a daughter.[3]
Kirkland is a deacon at the Community Baptist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania where he runs a youth mentoring program.[3]
