It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Satakunta region. There are two major sights in Nakkila, the church and the film studio Villilä, often referred as "Hollywood of Finland".

The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The name Nackeby was earlier used in Swedish.[3]
