Nishigandha Wad (Marathi: निशिगंधा वाड; born 11 October 1969) is an acclaimed Marathi film actress who has acted in Hindi films and in Hindi and Marathi serials. She started acting in commercial cinema around 1989–90 and has acted in more than 100 films.

She played the Supporting Role of Sujata Rajendra Bhardawaj (Simar's Mother-In-Law) in Colors TV Sasural Simar Ka.

Creative writings

She is author of five books: three have been the recipients of prestigious state awards. Her doctorate from the University of Mumbai on research on Changing Role of Women In Society — Reflections from Marathi & British Theatres (1970–1990) proves her academic excellence.[1]

Personal life

She is the daughter of well-known Marathi writer Dr Vijaya Wad. She married actor Deepak Deulkar. She has a daughter named Ishwari Deulkar.

Nishigandha made appearances in the Marathi serial Kulvadhu, and in many episodes of Zee Horror Show. She has also done TV shows like Virat (Doordarshan) and Dastaan (Zee) in the 1990s. Nishigandha Wad is speaker in Educational Lecture film on Religious Harmony in Marathi produced by Religious Harmony Foundation, Mumbai, India.
