Heather Phares of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5, saying, "A completely unique combination of beats, samples, and voice, Solex is insular and inventive, revealing an artist with a very personal kind of creativity."[2] David Browne of Entertainment Weekly gave the album a grade of B+, saying, "The echoey, rattling, wind-tunnel music lends an even eerier power to her tales of obsessions both romantic and physical."[3]
In 2015, Fact placed it at number 28 on the "50 Best Trip-Hop Albums of All Time" list.[8]
