Blick am Abend is a German free evening newspaper published in Switzerland and based in Zürich.
History and profile
Blick am Abend was first published on 1 June 2008[1] as a successor to the afternoon free daily Heute.[2][3]
Blick am Abend, based in Zürich, is a free newspaper owned by Ringier.[4][5] It is an evening newspaper published in tabloid format.[6][7][8] Peter Röthlisberger is the editor-in-chief of the daily.[4] Its sister newspaper is Blick, a leading daily in the country.[7][8] Both papers are based in Zurich.[9]
In 2008 Blick am Abend started a biweekly legal column which answers the reader questions.[10] Until 2009 the daily had editions in Zurich, Berne and Basle.[11] St. Gallen and Luzern/Zug editions were started in 2009.[11] In December 2013 the paper launched its online edition.[12]
The audited circulation of Blick am Abend in 2008 was 211,000 copies.[7] The paper had a circulation of 225,226 copies in 2009.[8] In 2010 its circulation was 329,418 copies[9] and its 2010 readership was 604,000.[13]
