Manalurpet is a panchayat town in Thirukoilur taluk of kallakurichi district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Manalurpet is 25 km from Tiruvannamalai, 15 km from Tirukoilur. The Thenpennai river, runs through Manalurpet. It passes through Sathanur Dam near Thiruvannamalai and ends in the Bay of Bengal near Cuddalore.
Demographics
As of the 2001 India census,[1] the population of Manalurpet (Tamil: மணலூர்ப்பேட்டை) is 7,401. Males make up 51% of the population and females 49%. The average literacy rate is 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 68% and female literacy is 50%. 12% of the Manalurpet population is under 6 years of age.
