"On Point" on YouTube

"On Point" is a song by British YouTube personality and rapper KSI. It was released independently on 17 August 2018. The song is partially a diss track aimed at American YouTuber Logan Paul and was KSI's ring walk entrance music for KSI vs. Logan Paul[2] ‒ a white-collar amateur boxing match between KSI and Logan Paul on 25 August 2018 at Manchester Arena, which ended in a majority draw.[3]

Promotion

On 14 August 2018, KSI announced the upcoming release of the song by posting the song's artwork to his social media pages with the caption "17th August".[4] The next day, he teased the song's music video by posting a photo of himself holding a look-alike of Logan Paul's pet dog Kong, taken on the film set of the music video, to his social media pages with the caption "cute dog".[5][6]

Music video

The music video, directed by Konstantin and Meji Alabi, was uploaded to KSI's YouTube channel on 17 August 2018.[7] It has 37 million views.[8] The music video stars KSI pursuing and taunting a doppelgänger of Logan Paul.[9] The video also stars doppelgängers of Paul's brother Jake Paul, their parents Greg Paul and Pam Stepnick, Paul's friend Evan Eckenrode, Paul's manager Jeff Levin, Paul's pet dog Kong, members of the YouTube group Team 10 and American boy band Why Don't We.[7][9][10][11] The video references several of Paul's controversies, such as when Paul tasered a dead rat in February 2018, and the suicide forest controversy in January 2018, when Paul filmed the recently deceased corpse of a man who had died by hanging himself in Aokigahara, known as the "suicide forest", in Japan.[10][7][9][11] The video also contains nods to Jack Torrance from The Shining and Thanos from The Avengers.[12][7][9] A behind-the-scenes video of the filming of the music video was uploaded to YouTube by director Konstantin on the same day as the release of the music video.[13]

Response

On 21 August 2018, three days after KSI released "On Point", Logan Paul uploaded a diss track against KSI titled "Goodbye KSI" to his YouTube channel.[14][15] It has 33 million views.[16]
