Yuan has a career high WTA singles ranking of 334 achieved on 16 July 2018. She also has a career high WTA doubles ranking of 684 achieved on 16 July 2018.

Yuan made her WTA main draw debut at the 2018 Jiangxi International Women's Tennis Open in the doubles draw partnering Liu Yanni.[1]
